VRS services are individualized based on a person’s needs. The services include career counseling, job training, and assistance to find and keep a job. Once a person is determined eligible for services, a VRS counselor helps them determine a job goal and the services they need to reach that goal.
Students with disabilities who are ages 14 through 22 and who are enrolled in secondary or postsecondary education may also be able to receive Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). These services include:

- Â Â Â Work-based learning experiences
- Â Â Â Postsecondary education counseling
- Â Â Â Workplace readiness training
- Â Â Â Instruction in self-advocacy
